Today was just another exercise in falling in love with Cerdanya and Bellver (our town) in particular. Morning was full of breakfast, sleep, walk to the park, schoolwork under a tree, some groceries and other leisure activities I’ve forgotten. Around 2pm we headed out on bikes to a nearby town called Pi. Long time since we’ve had a family bike ride. Ironic. We had the most out-of-this-world two hour delicious lunch. Delightful flavors included mushroom risotto (super umami), chicken cannelloni with wild sauce (port, duck, Parmesan) and possibly the best salads so far in Europe. Cortados to finish. Justin was in heaven. Some pump track action on the way home, a workout, and more chilling will wrap up this day. I’m sitting on the couch now, writing a little and mountain gazing a lot. I wonder if it will ever stop being breathtaking. Tomorrow we head to Girona for a few days. Technically our big activity for the day was ‘pack for Girona’ but when you’re on the road that basically means ‘throw your stuff in your luggage’.
On the way home we had views of day 4 and 5 of the Ruta. With the help of Peak Visor (great app) I could identify the butt of the Pyrenees, aka Pic de la Colilla, where Will and I stood a few days ago. Weather and life permitting, I’d like to hike up Tossa Plana de Lles with Justin.
