Our Mighty Racer

In a few days Justin will head to Belgium and then onwards to Germany to compete in the Masters Worlds 50+ Cyclocross race. Last year he won the US National 50+ Masters Cyclocross race so he is wearing the Stars and Stripes this season. National Champion. He’s raced many local races this fall in the Barcelona area and beyond. Every race he has stood on the podium, and often on the second step. There is a 50+ local guy, Tomi Misser, who won Downhill Worlds and Cross-Country Worlds who crushes cyclocross too. Justin calls him a ‘bike savant’ for his otherworldly bike handling skills. Bottom line, he is racing against one of the world’s best every time he toes a start line around here. That is pretty cool. We are so proud of his commitment and the trophies, jerseys and medals. He’s bringing home the hardware!! Bike racing can be pretty all consuming, as is true for any sport at elite levels. It’s demanding on your body and mind and it’s a grueling process to be race ready at these levels of competition. In a foreign country no less, and a foreign language.

We love the racer and the husband and the Dad. Justin has been as happy as I’ve seen him lately. Happier. Funnier. Chilled-out-er. Cerdanya will do that to you. And in the weeks ahead, may he be Faster than ever. Go Justin Go!!

Looking good in that Catalonian podium jersey!!
