Will and I are in the groove of walking all day. It’s rad. We covered such a variety of terrain today. Before our day officially began I went off solo to tag a peak above the refuge. The views, my heart. Upon my return we left the refuge and headed down a big valley, through a forest, into mushroom country. After a long creekside stroll we headed back up into the alpine. From a pass we veered off trail and up a peak that rewarded us with the most spectacular views of Andorra. Then onwards and downwards to another drainage. Passed through a broad open valley with horses. Baby horses napping!! And up again, cresting a rocky pass that gave us our first view back towards Bellver and the Cadi range behind it.
Now we’re settled into the most quaint hut. We showered!! Only two others here. Will says it’s straight up Hansel and Gretel. Most delicious meal: zucchini soup, roast chicken and potatoes, apple cake all cooked by a real Catalonian mountain goddess.
So many jaw dropping views today, capped off with a spectacular sunset.
