Dear Justin

Thank you for everything you did to turn this dream into a reality. I’m amazed at how fast you went from Park City Dad ;) to confident and savvy world traveler. I’m honestly blown away. You were a great partner at every turn. Your perspectives helped us make better decisions. You see and notice things I don’t. You consider things I miss. Of course you smell things I don’t, but that’s a low bar since I don’t smell much. But the point is, we are very much stronger together. And our interests are very, very similar ❤️

I wondered how the incessant drumbeat of decisions might bury us, but we traveled in a way that most of the time decisions weren’t incessant. I wondered how we’d make space for the different needs of four different people, but we traveled in a way that space was built-in, and we all got better at speaking up for our needs … and over time we built muscles to handle less space ;) I wondered how some of the trials and tribulations of travel would nag you, but you tapped into the work you’ve done for years on finding zen-like paths out of hard situations. In fact, those zen-like paths got even stronger with more work and practice!! It was amazing to watch.

One of your superpowers and great loves is cooking. It comes with a deep passion for healthy, plant-based ingredients. You’re so good. We’re spoiled and we know it. Family dinners were one of my trip highlights. In fact, it is hard to overstate what a massive positive impact it had on our travels. Not just in its awesomeness but in its evolution, as you incorporated local spices and dishes along the journey. I love that you love it. I’ll do the dishes forever.

It was amazing to see you experience so many different places with such an open mind. I loved overhearing conversations you’d have with locals that would have never happened back home in a million years. It was amazing to see you fall in love with Bellver and Cerdanya, as we all did. I’m glad you found ways to both incorporate the bike and let go of the bike. I think both mattered a lot. I’m proud of how you managed fitness around the world.

Thank you for all the heart and soul you put into this journey. I love you.
